Climate Action Campaign

Climate Action Campaign (CAC) is a powerhouse grassroots organization working to win a 100% clean energy future, stop the climate crisis, and protect the people and places we love.

Right now, pollution threatens Southern California families, coastlines, and wildlife. It leaves us with some of the worst air quality in the nation, driving the rising temperatures, smog, extreme heat, drought, and wildfires that put our entire ecosystem at risk.

To stop this crisis, CAC tackles the root cause at its source: transitioning away from dangerous fossil fuels to a clean, safe, healthy and resilient clean energy future.

We believe local action, driven by local voices, is the most effective way to tackle the climate crisis. We partner with residents, youth, educators, health professionals, and community organizations to build grassroots power and advance bold, enforceable climate solutions.

Our work already delivers results across Southern California:

• We helped 23 Southern California cities develop climate action plans rooted in community priorities, creating local roadmaps for cleaner air, healthier communities, and climate resilience.

• We mobilized public support to launch three nonprofit public power agencies that provide cleaner, more affordable energy through community governance and accountability.

• We secured electrification commitments from six major school districts, helping protect the health and academic success of more than 305,000 students through cleaner, all-electric, climate-ready campuses.

• We helped win California's historic "Lower Your Bills" reforms, holding utility giants accountable, stopping ratepayer dollars from funding utility lobbying, and strengthening protections against runaway energy rate hikes.
