Climate Action Campaign (CAC) is a powerhouse grassroots organization working to win a 100% clean energy future, stop the climate crisis, and protect the people and places we love.

Right now, pollution threatens Orange County families, coastlines, and wildlife. It leaves us with some of the worst air quality in the nation, driving the rising temperatures, smog, extreme heat, drought, and wildfires that put our entire ecosystem at risk.

To stop this crisis, CAC tackles the root cause at its source: transitioning away from dangerous fossil fuels to a clean, safe, healthy and resilient clean energy future.

We build our strategy from the ground up, using local cities to pioneer bold climate models that can be scaled up to state and national governments. From local city halls to Sacramento, we bring people together for clean air, healthy neighborhoods, and affordable energy. We center our work around equity, ensuring climate solutions benefit communities hit hardest by pollution.

Our work already delivers results across Orange County:

• We spearheaded the launch of the nonprofit clean energy provider Orange County Power Authority (OCPA), which is accelerating renewable power in four cities across Orange County.

• We helped secure Irvine's landmark 100% clean energy commitment, a groundbreaking first for our region.

• We successfully persuaded the county and eight cities in OC to update their climate plans through our Climate Action Plan Report Card.

• We won landmark legislation to lower energy bills by accelerating clean energy and reforming the utility business model.

Today, we take the fight even further. Locally, we work to electrify schools, homes, and industry, advocating for all-electric buildings and zero-emission vehicle fleets. In Sacramento, we fight to break utility monopolies and lower energy bills.
